Happy 99th Birthday Ronnie!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>They say you can tell a lot about a person based on their birthday.\u00a0 Wendy\u2019s mom, the Gypsy, introduced us to a Dutch book titled apply, \u201cThe Birthday Book.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Written by Gary Goldschneider an online version can be viewed at http:\/\/www.mypersonology.com<\/a><\/p>\n

Born February 2nd<\/sup>, the birthday book says that I am sophisticated, dynamic and original for the good stuff.\u00a0 On the not so good side, it says I am insulated, aloof and dispassionate.\u00a0\u00a0 Wendy, born July 9th<\/sup>, the book says, is curious, inventive and open while being also fearful, delusional and withdrawn.<\/p>\n

Another part of the book lets you look at your relationships with each other.\u00a0 When we plug in both of our birthdays, the manicure that comes up for us both is alluring quicksand.\u00a0 Our collective attributes are alluring, ambitious and powerful with the watch out parts being deceptive, disingenuous and ruthless.<\/p>\n

So what does a Cancer do for an Aquarius for their birthday?\u00a0 Take them to another Aquarians birthday party.\u00a0 Even more fun, make it a surprise!<\/p>\n

Front of the Reagan Library<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

So, on February 6, 2010, we headed over the hill from Malibu to meet up with our friends Tina and Dennis.\u00a0 The ruse, we were going to Simi Valley to an old movie set and ranch to take pictures.\u00a0 We had to stop by the Regan Library to get the key!\u00a0\u00a0 OK, it is a birthday surprise\u2026so nothing makes sense.\u00a0 I was along for the ride\u2026literally and figuratively.<\/p>\n

As we arrived at the Regan Library, there was a long line of cars up the hill.\u00a0 Being there a number of times, this was unusual.\u00a0 We had to park down the hill because the parking lot was full.\u00a0 When we jumped onto a shuttle bus, the chatter was about Ronald Regan\u2019s 99th<\/sup> Birthday Celebration.\u00a0 Still oblivious, I went along with the charade as a peaceful observer\u2026sort of dispassionate as my horoscope says.<\/p>\n

Wendy said, \u201cThe Celebration\u201d is about to begin and she angled to get us in.\u00a0 Little did I know that this was a set-up.\u00a0 Sheep like, I herded into the big tent where dignitaries, military and local politicians had assembled.\u00a0 A Marine Corp band played.<\/p>\n

Alluring Quicksand!\u00a0 Wendy\u2019s mom says absolutely!\u00a0 I sort of look at me as a \u201cwhere the rubber meets the sky\u201d kind of guy and Wendy a soft-hearted financier.\u00a0 Yet, people we tell the story to all say Yep, that you guys.<\/p>\n

Ron Regan and Nancy?\u00a0 You guessed it\u2026Alluring Quicksand.\u00a0 Ronnie, the Aquarian and Nancy the Cancerian.\u00a0 But that is not the significance of this day.\u00a0 It was Ronnie\u2019s birthday and mine the week before.\u00a0 Not until the ceremony was over and we walked to get lunch did I turn the corner in the cafeteria to find a gang of friends wanting celebrate my birthday a week late.<\/p>\n

It was great fun and I was very happy that close friends honored me with the surprise.<\/p>\n

For me, it was an interesting day because I was also honored to be at Ronnie\u2019s birthday celebration.\u00a0 My connection with Ron Reagan was one of great inspiration.\u00a0 I never met the man, although I felt like I knew him.\u00a0 As a Businessman in California, it was Ron Reagan that put a spark back into the state promoting future thinking, innovation and hard work.\u00a0 It was Ron that taught me the leadership skill to be firm, frank and friendly in my communication with people.\u00a0 I was inspired to say the least by his humor and his communication skills.\u00a0 I could go on and on what he taught me.\u00a0 The truth is that Ron Reagan taught me to look for what is right in life versus a focus on what is wrong.<\/p>\n

Being CNN free, in fact TV news free, for over five years, I would have heard about the big birthday celebration.\u00a0 I am glad I did not know, because it made my birthday surprise all that sweeter and gave me a chance to honor a friend who I never met.<\/p>\n

No matter your view, the Reagan Library captures moments in history that we should not forget.\u00a0 A trip worth taking and with one of the most breathtaking views in California.\u00a0 By February 6, 2011, Ronnie\u2019s 100th<\/sup> birthday, the library will have been completely renovated.\u00a0 Schedule a trip now to see the way it is and again after February 6th<\/sup> next year to see the changes.<\/p>\n
