Mexico. \u00a0This was our second year and we park on the balloon fiesta field near the museum. \u00a0Early mornings before dawn we trek to the field to watch 12-15 balloons go up before dawn. \u00a0After that, the field fills with over 500 hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes. \u00a0Then in waves, they launch skyward.<\/p>\n<p>The famous &#8220;box winds&#8221; were perfect this year. \u00a0As the waves of balloons launched, they headed south and climb in altitude until the wind direction changes to north. \u00a0The sail over the field again and again until it is time to land.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/poster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1484\" title=\"poster\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/poster-197x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"138\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/poster-197x300.jpg 197w, https:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/poster.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 138px) 100vw, 138px\" \/><\/a>Once again, Bob&#8217;s pictures were picked up by the NBC affiliate in Albuquerque for their unique perspective. \u00a0Above is a picture from the passenger seat of the Grizzly with Isabel kitty. \u00a0This is literally what she saw each morning,<\/p>\n<p>The pair of balloons pictured were a five exposure handheld sequence using Bob&#8217;s HDR technique to grab an overhead shot. \u00a0Then he added some brush strokes and a bit of software bias to create an illustrated looking poster.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Jack1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1485\" title=\"Jack1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Jack1-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Jack1-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.chilltravelers.com\/chill\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Jack1.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Finally is a picture of the Balloon Museum populated with balloons from every direction. \u00a0This will be Bob&#8217;s entry in this year&#8217;s photo contest being sponsored by Nikon and the Balloon Fiesta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spacehips?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As much as a annual event the balloon fiesta is becoming, so is our trek to the new Spaceport in New Mexico just north of Las Cruces. \u00a0Last year we met a new friend. \u00a0His name is Dr. Jerry Brown. \u00a0The fact is that he is a real rocket scientist formely with NASA. \u00a0Last year we visited the Spaceport on a private tour with Jerry.<\/p>\n<p>We wrote an article last year about our experiences. \u00a0We are so impressed with the team and scientists building the spaceport and the team building the first spaceship named VSS Enterprise. \u00a0Sir Richard Branson and his team along with Burt Rutan have kept pace with the spaceport construction building Enterprise. \u00a0 Here is a video of the first test flights over the new spaceport in Engle New Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"640\" height=\"385\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\"
